Sortie du single "Shine"

"Shine", le dernier single de Ph2 est sorti aujourd'hui ! Clara Moati est au chant. Elle nous parle de la fin d'une histoire d'amour et du besoin de se détacher de l'autre pour aller de l'avant (" I’ve got te let you go to shine").

Sur fond de guitare picking, la voix dialogue avec la basse fretless. L'orchestration s'épaissit progressivement. Les glissandos de cordes, qui créent une tension, ajoutent une couleur originale à la chanson.

 

La version longue de "Shine" (avec une partie instrumentale) sera à découvrir dans l'album Season 5 qui sortira le 4 février.

 

"Shine", the latest single from Ph2 is out today! Clara Moati is on vocals. She talks about the end of a love story and the need to detach oneself from the other in order to move on ("I've got you let you go to shine").
On a picking guitar background, the voice dialogues with the fretless bass. The orchestration gradually thickens. The string glissandos, which create tension, add an original colour to the song.

The long version of "Shine" (with an instrumental part) will be released on the Season 5 album on February 4th.

Elsewhere : the new single of Ph2, from the forthcoming Season 5 album

This instrumental track is an invitation to travel. For more than 7 minutes, let yourself be carried away by the succession of melodies and rhythms, to the sound of the octave mandoline. The octave mandoline is a large mandolin playing lower tones. Like the mandolin, it has 8 strings (4 times 2). In Elsewhere, the octave mandolin is accompanied by an ensemble of guitars (classical, folk, electric, sitar emulation, bass) to produce an airy sound texture.

"Ô toi ma sœur", the first single from the forthcoming album, Season 5, is released!

"Ô toi ma sœur" ("O You My Sister") deals with the miserable fate of people forced to leave their country to try to find asylum in a place where they hope to be safe and live a happy life. These words were inspired to Philippe Mercier by the unbearable images seen on television or on the Internet, by the number of deaths announced coldly by the media, which are as many people whose lives have been shattered, by the sight of these people stranded in camps or on the sidewalks of our cities. But this text was also inspired by our collective indifference to the fate of these people. The emotion aroused by the images is ephemeral. We prefer not to see and we continue to live in indifference.

 

Philippe Moati's music is however cheerful. The structure of the song is built around a simple rhythmic base played on a 12-string guitar. The orchestration becomes richer as the song progresses, taking on a world music coloring, with sounds of bagpipes and drums.

 

Clara Moati, 18 years old, sings here on her first single. She puts a lot of emotion in it. Her final flight in head voice gives you goose bumps every time you listen to it...
